Grasses in My Lea

Here is my ode to the grasses of summer: my photo gallery of the grasses growing on one wild acre around my dug pond. I hope you are as thrilled as I by their many textures, sizes, colors, and presences. What grasses are flowering or seeding around you? It’s okay to enjoy them without knowing their specific names, though any farmer will be glad to enlighten you if you ask.

Grasses mix together the energies of heaven and earth.

Eating grass seeds feeds gut flora.

Eating the seeds of grasses is a communion between plants and people.

Grasses are upright and sturdy.

Grasses hold their heads high. They are proud, but do not have pride.
